Book review

In Fright Night, a Fright Night Idol competitor gets kidnapped so Geronimo Stilton has to find him.
In the beginning, Boris Von Cacklefur gets an urgent telegram saying that he is a finalist in the Fright Night contest.  He writes poems.  So the family heads to Horrorwood studios for the competition.
Geronimo Stilton also received a telegram saying he has been invited to be a judge of the contest.
At the studio, the Shivers Machine is how they measured the judge’s reaction to the competitors’ poems. String was tied to the judges’ tails and then into the machine. If one of the judges shivered the machine recorded the tremble and rated it from ‘slightly spooked’ to ‘fainting from fright’. At the end of all the rounds the person that frightened the judges the most was the winner.
Firstly, the announcer, Crystal Glamorosa, explained the rules of the competition then introduced the contestants: Brad Balladeer, Boris Von Cacklefur, Vera Versa and Lyrica Sonnetail. In Round One, Mouse Z and Squeak Rat did a ‘Rotten Rap’. Then the contestants had a go at trying to rap.
There are three rounds of competition and one of the contestants gets eliminated each round. Three suspicious things happen that made Geronimo suspicious, including the disappearance of Boris. Geronimo has to look for clues to find Boris on several movie sets: Forest of Fur, The Monster Detective and Egypt.

Once the mystery is solved, the competition can continue and the Fright Night Idol is found!

Why I like the book: It’s creepy and funny. And the poems made me laugh!
Who my favourite character is: Creepella Von Cacklefur.
